Acceptable Use Policy
This policy defines how you may and may not use the Panchang API and DevDarsha's services. By accessing the API, you agree to these terms in addition to the Terms of Service.
Permitted Use
You may use the Panchang API to:
- Build applications, tools, or services that display or process Hindu calendar data for end users
- Integrate panchang data into religious, cultural, scheduling, or productivity software
- Use API responses for research, education, or personal projects
- Resell or white-label access only if you hold an active White-Level plan — see API License Agreement
Prohibited Use
You must not use the Panchang API to:
- Scrape or bulk-export data beyond your plan's rate limits to build a competing dataset or product
- Resell API access without a White-Level plan agreement — passing your API key to third parties is not permitted
- Abuse rate limits — automated hammering, credential stuffing, or deliberate denial-of-service attempts against our infrastructure
- Circumvent billing — sharing API keys, creating multiple accounts to exceed free-tier limits, or falsifying usage
- Build harmful content — astrology-based discrimination tools, spam systems, or applications that exploit religious sentiment in deceptive ways
- Violate applicable law — any use that breaches Indian IT law, GDPR, or other applicable regulations
Enforcement
DevDarsha reserves the right to:
- Suspend or terminate API keys that violate this policy — immediately and without prior notice in severe cases
- Rate-limit or throttle accounts showing abusive traffic patterns
- Pursue legal remedies for damages caused by intentional misuse
For minor first-time violations, we will typically send a warning email and allow 7 days to remedy the issue before suspension.
Reporting Abuse
If you suspect another user is abusing the API or misusing DevDarsha's data, please report it to [email protected] with as much detail as possible. We investigate all reports.
